Limited Licensed Master Social WorkerAstrid is a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist originally from Puerto Rico. She has over 15 years of experience in child welfare. Her work has allowed her to walk alongside children, adolescents and families through some of life's most challenging moments and it has deeply shaped the way she shows up as a therapist - with compassion, honesty and respect. She believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, understood and never judged. Astrid strives to create a space that feels grounded and authentic, where you can show up exactly who you are. She values cultural identity, family dynamics, lived experiences and she said she brings cultural humility and curiosity into every session. Being fully bilingual allows her to offer services in both English and Spanish, honoring each client's voice and comfort.
Outside of her professional life, Astrid is married and a mom to two sons - one is an older teenager and the other is a young adult. Astrid says her boys continually teach her about growth, patience and perspective. She is also a proud dog mom to Joe, who keeps her laughing and grounded. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, caring for her plants, junk journaling and traveling - simple practices that she says help her slow down and stay connected. Whether you're navigating change, healing from past experiences or simply wanting to understand yourself better, she would be honored to support you on your journey.

Graduate Student InternLorraine Ponegalek is a graduate student of Cornerstone University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Currently an intern, Lorraine's background includes a decade of experience working in a variety of support roles within the public school system. Lorraine is a lifelong learner and is passionate about helping clients improve their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Lorraine is looking forward to using empowering, client-centered approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Reality Therapy to help clients in setting goals to support growth and change. Lorraine recognizes that every person’s story is unique, as is each path to healing. She looks forward to walking alongside clients as they discover their own path toward healing and wholeness. Faith-based practices that honor a person’s spiritual framework can be incorporated when desired. Lorraine’s counseling areas of interest include self-esteem, life transitions, pet loss, and faith-based challenges. When not actively learning about the field of counseling, Lorraine enjoys spending time with her family. She is married and has three daughters, a son-in-law, three dogs and two cats. Lorraine’s human kids are in different stages of life which can make it challenging to get together, but as a family they have enjoyed traveling and camping. When not studying or with family, Lorraine can be found in the kitchen baking sourdough bread, on a walk, curled up under a blanket reading, or training her 1-year-old puppy, Maverick, in becoming a therapy dog.
